Where can I find information on running my system?

The INDY 11.5 Planset includes a chapter on starting and maintaining your operational aquaponics system. You can also access our free ebook on this site. We also offer comprehensive high-level trainings to take your knowledge to the next level.

Does the INDY 11.5 Planset come in a digital format?

The INDY 11.5 Planset comes in a rich, full color A3 sized spiral-bound workbook only. It has been designed to be laid flat while you are building your system from the pages. We want you to take notes in the margin, use post-it notes to bookmark the page you are using, and have the planset be a physical companion on your journey in to aquaponics. Only a physical book can do that. 

I have no building experience. Will I be able to do this?

Hundreds of people around the world have successfully built this system using the INDY 11.5 Plan Set.

Building it is fairly straightforward.  Anyone familiar with basic tools and techniques - or willing to have a go! - will be able to build this system.  The construction uses mostly commonly-available materials, so you don't need a specialist supplier.

How much space does the INDY 11.5 need?

You will need approximately 16m x 5m (52'6" x 16'6") of space to install the Indy 11.5. This will allow room for access to all parts of your system, to be able to walk around and work around the system easily.

What tools and equipment will I need?

Basic hand tools are needed to completethe INDY 11.5 as per the Planset. These include items such as a saw, spirit-level, electric drill, hammer, and other basic tools that are stocked at any local hardware store. No specialty equipment is needed.

How do I know what materials I will need to build the INDY 11.5?

The INDY 11.5 Planset includes a detailed parts list outlining the exact quantity and type of materials you will need to complete construction of your system. All of these items can be found in your local Home Depot (or similar) hardware store.

Does the INDY 11.5 need to be inside a greenhouse? 

Noa greenhouse is not necessary but it is advisable as depending on the climate this can extend the growing season, and prtoect your crop and fish from storms and/or pests. 

I live in a cold climate, will the INDY 11.5 work for me?

Yes, the INDY 11.5 has been built all over the world, including cold climates like The Netherlands in Europe, and throughout North America. In colder climates, thought must be given to heating the fish water during winter. You can learn these cold-weather strategies in our courses and reference materials. 

Can the INDY 11.5 be used in a school as part of the syllabus?

What if I need even more growing area than the Indy 11.5 offers? 

If you need more space than the INDY 11.5 offers, consider upgrading to the INDY 23 Plan Set and get double the growing space and fish harvest. You can also build 2 seperate INDY 11.5 systems, but if you do they must be both built complete, according to the plans, as you can't just double the growing area without also increasing the water and fish volume.
